Do you find it easy to trust God — until adversity strikes?
Is God’s mission clear — unless it conflicts with our schedule?
This November, we are studying the Old Testament book of Jonah. And “no” it’s not about a big fish, mentioned only 4 times in the entire book. It’s really about a mighty God, mentioned 38 times in these four short chapters, and about the struggle of a man to surrender to God. His spiritual journey took him through 4 stages.
“In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth”… It is a phrase that we have all heard hundreds of times throughout our lives. From the cradle roll class in the church nursery to first astronauts on the moon; those ten words have been spoken by billions of people since the beginning of time. The story is one that needs no introduction because it is in fact the introduction. Whether you are the child still in awe of the fact that God created everything or you are the person that has heard the story of creation so many times that it seems to have lost it’s significance. The “7 Day’s: The Story of God’s Creation” series will forever change your perspective on this story. No matter how many times you have read this story you have never heard it or seen it like this before. Come and join us, at the Prestoncrest Church of Christ on Sunday evenings through November, as we venture into the most amazing 7 days in the history of mankind and what that looks like to each of us today.
Have you ever stopped to truly think about just what it was that God did in bridging Himself back to the world that so blatantly turned it’s back on Him and disregarded Him? There is perhaps no more recognized scripture in the entire bible than John 3:16. “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.”
God laid out the bridge of all bridges for each of us so that we would have a way back to Him. Join us on Sunday mornings in October at the Prestoncrest Church of Christ as we listen to God’s word in “Bridging The Gap” within our lives.
The Parables of Jesus and the Psalms of David are both windows on the soul. Through the window of the Parables we see the heart of God graciously reaching down to humanity. Through the window of the Psalms we see the heart of humanity struggling to reach up to God. Both are filled with powerful images, honest emotion and clear instruction.
If you want to look through God’s window, then join us on Sunday mornings as we think through the parables and on Sunday evenings as we reflect on the Psalms.
